Three Reasons To Install LED Strip Lighting In Your Garage

Posted on

Garages make life a lot easier when it comes to owning a car. Garages protect your vehicle from snow and rain that can trap your car. Your car's paint job is also protected from long, hot summers when you can safely tuck it into a garage. There are some things that you need to be careful of in garages, including not bumping into your home and navigating the space in the dark. Here are three reasons why you should install LED strip lighting in your garage.

Help to separate two spaces

Most garages for single family homes or even townhomes are double garages. If you have two cars and one garage door, it can be difficult to figure out just where to pull in to offer enough space for the other car to park and open their doors. One way that you can get the space right each time is to install an LED adhesive lighting strip to the floor that separates the space for each car. Use the LED light as the center strip and pull to your side, avoiding the light strip. This will ensure that you and your living partner have enough space each time you pull into the garage.

Helping with depth perception

One of biggest worries of homeowners with garages is not running into the home while pulling into the garage. Hitting your wall at even a reduced speed can cause a costly house repair. If you are concerned with you or another person who lives with you possibly running into the front wall of the garage, you can install a LED lighting strip to the wall of the garage. If you have halogen lights inside of your car, it is easy for the color of the wall to become washed out rather than focused. Halogen lights also tend to have a yellowish glow that can wash out what you are looking at. LED lights come in a range of shades that can be cooler in tone, which gives you a much more clear view between the space of a white or beige wall. Utilizing LED lights on the wall itself will aid you in being able to view just how much space you have left.

Create better lighting along a natural path

Many garages will have overhead lighting rather than lighting along the perimeter of the garage. For this reason, certain corners of the garage may have less lighting than the very center of the garage. Many people tend to have storage along the side of the garage walls for household items and more. If you want to make sure that you and your family can properly see and access belongings in any corner of the room whether day or night, install light along the three stationary walls of the garage. This can keep your family safe and make your items easily accessible. Click here to continue reading more.
